As a part of the project “LIFE Pieniny PL”, co-financed by the European Union and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, the Pieniny National Park organized two kick-off meetings .
The meetings were held in the Park’s Headquarters in Krościenko n.D. and at Fire Station in Czorsztyn on 10th and 12th December 2013.
The meetings brought together local authorities, school principals, representatives of local communities and representatives of the media. During the meetings, the project coordinator Iwona Mazurkiewicz, introduced participants to the main goals, objectives and actions which are a part of the project implemented from September 2013 to June 2018. After the presentation there were also questions and discussion. It was a great opportunity to explain to the participants doubts about the project LIFE+ and indicate benefits of its implementation, not only to the protection of species and habitat mosaic within the Natura 2000 “Pieniny” site, but also to local inhabitants.
The total budget of the project is 1,276,538 euro: EU contribution is 638,269 euro (50 %), the NFOŚiGW contribution is 573,924 euro (44,96 %) and PPN contribution is 64 345 euro (5,04 %).
